Purpose: To encourage and improve the educational and research opportunities for training of osteopathic physicians in Allergy and Immunology; to provide educational programs at national meetings of the AOA; to serve as an educational instrument to the public concerning allergic and immunologic disease; to promote a better understanding of the services provided by the allergist and immunologist and of his relationship to the general practitioner and other osteopathic specialists; and to advance in general, the practice of Allergy and Immunology.
Membership: Active: graduate of a college of osteopathic medicine approved, at time of graduation, by the AOA, who has a predominant interest in allergy or immunology, who has 20 hours of formal postgraduate education in allergy or immunology per year. Precandidate: students, interns, or residents with a strong interest in allergy or immunology who are members of the AOA. Candidate: practicing physicians and surgeons who abide by the purposes of the College and who are willing to pursue the approved course of study and practice to become active members. Associate: those whose professional activities involve specialized cooperation with allergists and immunologists, or who contribute to some phase of the special field of allergy and immunology, and who are elected to this status by the executive committee after consideration of an application submitted in evidence of their qualifications. Dues are $50 per year. (There are also Honorary and Life memberships.)

CME requirements: 20 hours per year.
