The 2010 meeting of the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) House of Delegates will take place Friday, July 16, through Sunday, July 18, at the Fairmont Hotel in Chicago. At the meeting, over 700 delegates and alternate delegates representing state osteopathic medical associations, specialty societies, interns and residents, and students vote on organizational policies concerning public, professional and educational issues.
New officers for 2010-2011 will also be elected during the meeting. This year’s meeting marks a new milestone for the AOA with the swearing in of the first female president, Karen J. Nichols, DO, an osteopathic internal medicine physician from Oak Brook, Ill.
