The JAOA
JAOA—The Journal of the American Osteopathic Association (JAOA) is a monthly peer-reviewed scientific publication produced by the American Osteopathic Association. The JAOA can be accessed online. The DO

From helping a high school career counselor educate students to assisting a physician with his or her practice, the AOA offers publications for a multitude of needs. The “What is a DO” brochure compares the differences and similarities between DOs and MDs. The “Osteopathic Medicine” brochure answers the most commonly asked questions about the profession. “OMT: Hands-on-Care” explains the unique, non-invasive means of preventing and treating diseases and injuries through Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment. PLoS Medicine, the first international peer-reviewed general medical journal in 70 years, is now available online and free of charge with no restrictions on redistribution or use. The Public Library of Science (PLoS), a nonprofit organization of researchers, scientists, and physicians, created PLoS Medicine to give researchers, physicians, patients, and policymakers access to the latest research findings and medical information.
