Oct. 3 Deadline for Medicare EHR Incentive Program

​Aug. 15, 2012:

Physicians who are participating in the Medicare and Medicaid EHR Incentive Program must begin their 90-day reporting period by Oct. 3, 2012. This is the reporting period to demonstrate meaningful EHR use for 2012. Other notes:

• The EHR incentive will be $44,000 for 2012, but will decrease to $39,000 in 2013.

• For now, successfully participating in the EHR Incentive Program can earn you an incentive payment. But starting in 2015, eligible providers who don't participate will be penalized.
