Aug. 10, 2012:
If you're an osteopathic medical student who has conducted research or taken part in medical work overseas, you're invited to participate in a poster session during the AOA's Osteopathic Medical Conference & Exposition (OMED) in San Diego. The poster session is being presented as part of the AOA Bureau on International Osteopathic Medical Education and Affairs' (BIOMEA) 14th Annual International Seminar, “Osteopathic Medicine: Hands-on Care Worldwide.” Here are the details:
To participate, you'll need to submit an abstract for the poster session by Aug. 24. Select "BIOMEA/SOMA" from the drop-down menu to begin the submission process.
Submissions will be considered in two categories, one for medical experience overseas in general, and another for research conducted internationally.
The poster session and competition will take place Oct. 7.
The winners of the competition are eligible for a monetary award. First prize is $300; second prize is $200. Winners will be notified by the second week of September.
Note that this program is distinct from the Research Poster Exhibition, which also takes place at OMED.
OMED 2012 will be held Oct. 7 - 11 in San Diego; registration is free for osteopathic medical students. Register today!
