The three components of the road trip are: 

• Changes to CME Reporting Guidelines 

  After the close of the 2010-2012 CME cycle on Dec. 31, 2012, DOs will have only until May 31, 2013, to submit CME credits. 

• Changes to AOA Board Certification

  Osteopathic Continuous Certification (OCC) changed the certification process from being a single event to a continuous, lifelong process on Jan. 1, 2013.

• Changes to the Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS)

  2012 will be the final year to participate in the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ PQRS without the risk of future penalty.
