A fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Internists and the American College of Chest Physicians, Dr. Giaimo is an AOA-board certified osteopathic internal and pulmonary medicine physician in private practice in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. In addition to his work in pulmonology, Dr. Giaimo specializes in various forms of sleep medicine, including treatment of insomnia and hypersomnia.

Dr. Giaimo has been a member of the AOA’s House of Delegates since 2000 and has served as chair of the AOA’s Bureau of Communications and Bureau of State Government Affairs. He is also a past president of the Florida Osteopathic Medical Association (FOMA), and has served on FOMA’s executive committee for eight years.

A health policy fellow of the AOA, Dr. Giaimo served on the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services' (CMS) Practicing Physicians Advisory Council (PPAC), which, before being disbanded, provided input to the federal government on how CMS rules affect practicing physicians.

In 2010, Dr. Giaimo was honored by FOMA as the Physician of the Year. He was also given the American Lung Association of Florida Physician Appreciation Award in 2006.

After earning his osteopathic medical degree at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Giaimo completed a rotating internship at the former Metropolitan Hospital of Philadelphia and a res​idency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey - School of Osteopathic Medicine in Stratford, which became part of Rowan University as the Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine in July 2013.
