Research Abstracts are presented as posters during the AOA Research Conference at the AOA Annual Osteopathic Medical Conference & Exposition (OMED) and are published in the JAOA—The Journal of the American Osteopathic Association August issue.
The Call for Abstracts is issued near the beginning of each year and the final submission deadline is on April 30.
The Call for SOMA Abstracts is issued in June of each year and the final submission deadline is in August.

Submission of Abstracts
Research abstracts are submitted in four categories:
Previous Publication or Simultaneous Submission: Abstracts are accepted for consideration with the understanding that they have not been published elsewhere and that they are not simultaneously under consideration by any other publication.
Nonproprietary Descriptors: Drugs should be identified in text by their nonproprietary or chemical names. Equipment and products should be identified by nonproprietary descriptors, including the manufacturers’ names and locations (i.e. city, state, country).
