Call for 2019 CO*RE REMS Program Sponsors

Abuse, misuse, and diversion of opioid drugs have led to a national public health crisis. In response to the crisis, the FDA has required a Risk Education and Mitigation Strategy (REMS) for extended-release and long-acting (ER/LA) opioid analgesics. As a result, the AOA and the Collaborative for REMS Education (CO*RE) partners have designed a REMS-compliant competency-based curriculum, rooted in a comprehensive assessment of learner needs and based in clinical evidence and the principles of adult education. The program targets physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other healthcare professionals, and consists of a lecture-style presentation, Q&A, and learner self-assessment.

The AOA would like to invite your organization to host a CO*RE REMS course for your constituents in 2018.
