On Oct. 30, thousands of DOs, osteopathic medical students and members of the AOA family descended on Orlando to take part in the premier osteopathic event of the year - OMED 2011. Throughout the next few days, 14 osteopathic practice groups, as well as osteopathic medical schools and affiliate groups will participate in continuing medical education activities, workshops, networking events, and more.
"Whether you are a past attendee or a newcomer, we are certain you will find OMED 2011 among the most valuable, rewarding and enjoyable education events you attend," AOA President Martin S. Levine, DO, MPH, said. "This conference represents a great opportunity for osteopathic physicians to meet to discuss the future of osteopathic medicine and to learn new information to improve patient care."
Continuing medical education topics to be covered at the conference include addiction, obesity, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, pain control, pain management, traumatic brain injury, gout, pediatric food allergies, heart disease in women and more. Conference-wide events will cover updates and the latest developments surrounding obesity, hypertension, hormone therapy management, end of-life care, diabetes and much more.
