During Monday's OMED General Session, John Jacobs, co-founder of Life is Good, challenged DOs to rediscover the passion that led them to become osteopathic physicians. "People around you can feel that," he said.
In the clip below, Jacobs describes the humble beginnings of his life in business. Along with his brother, Bert, Jacobs spent much of the 1990s traveling across the country in a used van selling his original t-shirt designs to students in college dormitories.
Today, Life is Good products are sold by more than 3,500 retailers nationwide. The company has raised more than $9.5 million for kids in need.
