OMED 2014 will again offer dual credit CME programming from The Cleveland Clinic, partnering (Oct. 25) with the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians. For the first time, Geisinger will also be presenting CME at OMED, in partnership with the American College of Osteopathic Internists. Here's a look at what's on tap:
Cleveland Clinic & ACOFP
Oct. 25: Family Practice Nuts and Bolts. Topics will include updates on diabetes, obesity, hypertension, dementia, rheumatology, hepatitis and hypercholesterolemia.
Oct. 26: Osteopathic Patient-Centered Care in the 21st Century: Empathy, Mindfulness and Advanced Communications. Delve into current and future research comparing empathy scores of graduates of osteopathic and allopathic medical schools.
Oct. 27: Preventive and Integrative Medicine Conference. Learn about the immune system, inflammatory diseases, the standard American inflammatory diet, why weight loss decreases osteoarthritis, and more.
Up to 18 AOA Category 1-A CME Credits and 18 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM will be available over the three-day program.

Oct. 26: The Future of Patient Engagement is Already Here. Topics include exercise and cancer risk reduction, tips for physicians on using Twitter, and novel therapies for common malignancies. The afternoon will feature a Cardiology Symposium.
Oct. 27: The Internal Medicine Symposium will take place in the morning. The afternoon Sleep Medicine Symposium will cover implantables for treatment of sleep apnea, an update on DOT and FAA policies for OSA identification and management, and a look at the ACA and population health.
Oct. 28: Bariatric/Obesity Symposium (morning): Learn about the treatment of obesity, including surgical updates and pre-and post-operative management of bariatric patients. The Hospice and Palliative Care Symposium (afternoon) will explore end-of-life pain and symptom management, how palliative care can help patients return home sooner, and more.
