Get Inspired at Medical Student Events

Osteopathic medical students can network at mentoring sessions, attend career development workshops and learn about research conducted by their peers at OMED 2015. Here's a look at a few highlights of student activities:

  • Meet with representatives from nine specialty colleges during two Medical Student Mentoring Sessions from 9:30-11:15 a.m. and from 1:30-3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18, in the Exhibit Hall. Participating specialty colleges include American Osteopathic College of Allergy and Immunology, American Osteopathic College of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, American College of Osteopathic Pediatricians, American College of Osteopathic Neurologists and Psychiatrists, American College of Osteopathic Surgeons, American Osteopathic Academy of Addiction Medicine, American Osteopathic College of Pathologists, American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians and American Academy of Osteopathy.

  • Brush up on your osteopathic manipulative medicine (OMM) skills during an OMM workshop from 10-11 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 18.

  • Find out the latest on single GME during an update from 11 a.m. to noon Sunday, Oct. 18.

  • Learn what accomplishments to highlight when Creating a Medical School CV during a workshop from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18.

  • Strengths Live will hold a session for students from 1:30 - 2:30 p.m. followed by private student coaching sessions from 2:30-3:30 p.m. in the Strengths Live pavilion.

  • Learn tips for Preparing for COMLEX from 2:45-4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18.

  • Hear presentations on Saturday, Oct. 17, from the winners of the Student Poster Competition. Then view all the research presented at the Student Poster Competition from 1:30-4:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18.
