Oct. 1, 2014:
As more people sign up for coverage in the health insurance marketplaces created under the Affordable Care Act, it is important for physicians to be aware of the challenges that people may experience when navigating this new environment.
Physicians can play a valuable role in spreading knowledge about resources available for consumers to find health care coverage that meet their needs.
Matthew G. Heinz, MD, director of provider outreach at the Department of Health and Human Services, will lead a discussion on the CMS’ “Coverage to Care” initiative and provide details about the resources available to help people navigate and understand new health plan benefits. Physicians will also learn how they can help new health care purchasers gain access to primary care and preventative services in their local communities.
The Town Hall Meeting will take place from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 27, 2014, in Room TCC 101 in the Washington State Convention & Trade Center in Seattle.
