International Osteopathic Leaders Convene

The Osteopathic International Alliance (OIA) Board of Directors convened via conference call today under the leadership of Dr. med Johannes Mayer, Chair, in pursuit of its mission to “advance the philosophy and practice of osteopathic medicine and osteopathy worldwide.”  OIA Directors heard reports from several of its committees, including those dedicated to international governance, membership recruitment, and external affairs.  Discussion focused on consideration of membership applications and whether to propose bylaws amendments to their membership in the new year.  The OIA is hosting two meetings in 2012, one in conjunction with the American Academy of Osteopathy’s Convocation in Louisville, Ky., and the other in Paris, France.  Past Presidents Peter B. Ajluni, DO, and Karen J. Nichols, DO, and Boyd R. Buser, DO, represent the AOA on the OIA Board.
