DO Growth Outpaces Membership Growth

The 2/24/12 AOA dues revenue report shows that the AOA has a current total membership of 42,714 as we enter the fourth quarter of Fiscal Year 2012.  This total is an increase of 112 members since last week and represents 1,712 more members than we had at this same time last year.  Our market share has reached 54.8% of all DOs. While the sheer number or DO members increases each year, our market share has struggled to keep pace: the total number of DOs practicing in the United States grew 5.2% between 2011 and 2012, but AOA membership only grew 4.2% and our market share actually decreased by 0.5%.  Our new marketing and recruitment campaigns hope to change this trend and make more DOs aware of what the AOA does for them every day.
