Finance Committee Approves Budget Requests

AOA Immediate Past President Karen J. Nichols, DO, oversaw a meeting of the AOA Finance Committee, of which she is Chair, today in Miami, Fla. Committee members, which includes a majority of the AOA Board of Trustees, reviewed AOA Financial Statements as of 1/31/12 and heard a forecast on the AOA Reserve Fund and projected balance at the end of Fiscal Year 2012 (FY12).  Peter B. Ajluni, DO, Chair of the Bureau of Conventions, provided a report on earnings and profit distribution to affiliate groups resulting from OMED 2011 this past October. Major discussion focused on proposed budgets for FY13 and FY14, which will be finalized by early May before going before the full AOA Board and House of Delegates for review and approval in July.  The Board Midyear Meeting commences tomorrow, and many Trustees will be attending a reception and dinner, hosted by the American Osteopathic Foundation in recognition of all AOF donors, this evening.
