AOA Leaders Converge in Washington, DC

AOA President Martin S. Levine, DO, President-elect Ray E. Stowers, DO, and I traveled to the National Osteopathic Advocacy Center  (NOAC) in Washington, DC, today for a series of meetings and events leading up to DO Day on Capitol Hill, which takes place tomorrow.  This afternoon we participated in the American Osteopathic Information Association’s (AOIA) Board of Directors meeting, which was held at the NOAC under the direction of George Thomas, DO, Chair.  The Board heard updates on the AOA proposed budget for FY13, financial investments, and our partnership with HealthFusion.  The Board also continued strategic planning to enhance the AOIA’s role over the next five years, which may include new initiatives to increase non-dues revenue, reorganization of the Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program (HFAP) that the AOIA oversees and better marketing of HFAP’s unique brand of accreditation.
