AOA Supports National Healthcare Decisions Day

The AOA is a supporter of National Healthcare Decisions Day, which takes place each year on 4/16/12. The goal for this day is to raise awareness for the importance of putting our advance directives—such as living wills—into writing. While more than 70% of Americans have thought about their estate plan, only 29% have a living will.  To help this cause, the AOA encourages you to speak to your patients and direct them to the event’s website, where visitors can access resources for advance care planning. The AOA joins National Healthcare Decisions Day to raise awareness for a difficult but very necessary issue.
