COPT and CPCI Hold Meetings

The AOA Council on Postdoctoral Training (COPT) met today as part of the AOA “cluster” of education council meetings at the O’Hare Hilton in Chicago.  Led by Michael I. Opipari, DO, the COPT reviewed the status of several critical issues, including the AOA Match and post-match scramble; the ERAS and NRMP SOAP Match; and OGME quality measures, among other issues.   The Council also reviewed the basic standards for three new training programs. AOA Trustee Ronald Burns, DO, BOT Education Chair, attended the meeting, which will continue deliberations tomorrow.  The AOA Council on Palliative Care Issues likewise convened via teleconference on 4/19/12 under the leadership of Katherine E. Galluzzi, DO, Chair, to review 2007 AOA House of Delegates policies set to “sunset” this year and discuss its goals for the coming year.
