Department of Defense Officially Recognizes COCA

The U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) has responded to the Congressional letter authored by Representative Joe Heck, DO (R-NV), requesting that the DoD recognize the AOA’s Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA) as an accredited college or university for purposes the DoD’s Tuition Assistance Programs.  In the letter, the DoD states it “will now approve specialized or programmatic accrediting agencies recognized by the Dept. of Education in the list of regional and national accrediting agencies for participation in the Military TA Program, including COCA. This is very good news for the AOA.  On behalf of the AOA, our colleges and our students, thank you Dr. Heck!
