Advocacy for Malpractice Reform in NH

The AOA and the New Hampshire Osteopathic Association (NHOA) wrote a joint letter (NH-Letter.pdfNH-Letter.pdf) to the Chair of the New Hampshire House Judiciary Committee on 4/17/12 in support of SB 406. This bill would establish a system for early offers of settlement for medical injury claims as an alternative to the costly and time-consuming litigation process. The AOA and NHOA believe that early offers could help lower the high costs associated with malpractice litigation, which would in turn diminish health care costs, reduce the practice of defensive medicine, and increase access to care for New Hampshire patients. See the Policy Notes for related state action.
