The Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB) is celebrating its 100th anniversary today at its Annual Meeting in Ft. Worth, Tex. AOA President Martin S. Levine, DO, and I represented the AOA on the dais, together with U.S. Surgeon General Regina Benjamin, MD, and other leaders of the medical and regulatory professions. The theme for the meeting is “Forward to the Future: Building on 100 Years of Progress in Medical Regulation.” Following Dr. Benjamin’s welcoming remarks this morning, Aneesh Chopra, the former U.S. Chief Technology Officer, gave the keynote address, “Innovation in Care Delivery—Connecting the Dots on HIT, Payment Reform, and Open Innovation.” Many osteopathic medical students from the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine were in attendance and recognized.
