New Physicians' Council Convenes

The AOA Council of New Physicians in Practice (CNPP) met via teleconference on 4/30/12 under the direction of AOA Trustee Shannon Scott, DO, Chair.  The CNPP discussed its ongoing outreach to osteopathic affiliate organizations to create leadership positions for new physicians, such as on their boards or committees.  The Council is developing a resolution that encourages this effort and hopes to present it to the House of Delegates in July.  The CNPP also worked on the agenda for the Practice Enhancement Workshop, which will be held on Sunday, 10/7/12, during OMED 2012 in San Diego.  The workshop will focus on providing information on CME, Osteopathic Continuous Certification, and other important professional development topics, as well as a “Cocktails and Coding” event to learn more about coding and reimbursement requirements in an interactive and relaxed session.
