AOA Delegation Attending Michigan Convention

AOA President Martin S. Levine, DO, President-elect Ray E. Stowers, DO, and I are attending the Michigan Osteopathic Association’s (MOA) 113th Annual Postgraduate Convention & Scientific Seminar, taking place 5/16-19/12 in Dearborn.  Yesterday we joined the MOA Board of Trustees (BOT) Meeting to discuss issues of mutual concern in preparation for the 2012 AOA Annual Meeting and attended a BOT dinner honoring outgoing MOA Trustee Donna Moyer, DO.  Today President Levine, President-elect Stowers and I each addressed the MOA House of Delegates, speaking about the recently introduced bipartisan bill to repeal the Sustainable Growth Rate, new COCA standards related to OGME, and the ACGME crisis.  The MOA expects well over 1,100 attendees, including many AOA Trustees and Past Presidents.  Reports on the Convention’s proceedings will continue this week.

AOA Delegation Attending Michigan Convention

Hi Mr. Crosby,
Just wandering: Is the topic:  "DO" degree change to "MD,DO" brought up anymore? As an AOA and board member in my field, paying many high fees to the AOA annually, I feel this should be brought up yearly, and that all U.S. trained DOs should each have a vote yearly on this matter (instead of just the AOA elected head organization members deciding this).
Thank you.
