JCQP Finalizes Comments on Medicare Payment

The AOA Joint Committee on Quality and Payment (JCQP) met via conference call last evening to review a letter the AOA received last month from the U.S. House of Representatives’ Ways and Means Committee.  The letter requested comments on physician payment and quality programs to provide input into the Committee’s efforts to develop new Medicare physician payment policy.  With the advice and consent of the JCQP, the AOA has prepared our response to the Committee’s questions about new payment and delivery models; quality improvement and reporting; and ways that payment formulas can promote greater efficiency in the Medicare program while improving the overall quality of care provided.
