DO Nominated to HIT Policy Committee

AOA President Martin S. Levine, DO, wrote to the U.S. Government Accountability Office on 5/23/12 to nominate Thomas G. Zimmerman, DO, to the Health Information Technology (HIT) Policy Committee. Dr. Zimmerman is a board-certified physician from Massapequa, N.Y., who serves as Director of Osteopathic Medical Education and Program Director of Osteopathic Family Practice Residency at South Nassau Communities Hospital.  The AOA believes that osteopathic physicians, such as Dr. Zimmerman, play an important role in advancing the utilization of technologies in the practice of medicine. Moreover, we regularly promote osteopathic inclusion on federal bodies to ensure the profession’s voice is heard at all levels of government.
