Resources to Avoid ERx Payment Penalty

AOA members should be aware that, in order to avoid -1% “payment adjustment” penalty in 2013, physicians must e-prescribe for Medicare Part B patients at least 10 times for Medicare office visits or services by 6/30/12.  The penalty will increase to 1.5% in 2013 and 2% in 2014 and beyond.  If you are wondering how to avoid the penalty and start e-prescribing, then watch the AOA webinar, "Electronic Prescribing - How to Avoid the Penalty and Qualify for the Bonus," featuring AOA Trustee Ronald R. Burns, DO. Another great resource is the eRx Frequently Asked Questions article on Osteopathic.org
