Read Analysis of SCOTUS Decision

How will the Supreme Court’s ruling on the Affordable Care Act affect you and your patients?  The U.S. Supreme Court ruling on 6/28/12 upheld all major provisions of the health reform law, citing the constitutionality of the individual mandate under the taxation clause of the Constitution as a valid exercise of Congressional taxing authority.  AOA staff analyzed the ruling and what it means for health care moving forward, especially ongoing efforts in Congress, how it may impact the November elections, and the fiscal impact the law will have.  Health reform is a continuous process that, while challenging, also presents opportunities for our profession that will not end as a result of the Supreme Court decision.
