Strategic Plan Nears Completion

AOA Trustee Robert S. Juhasz, DO, Chair, conducted today’s meeting of the AOA Strategic Planning Committee (SPC) at the Fairmont hotel in Chicago. The SPC is in the process of drafting the next AOA strategic plan, which goes into effect in July 2013, and defining profession-wide top priorities.  To this end, the Committee heard reports from five task forces assigned to give special attention to several challenging issues our profession must consider, including the rules and roles of the AOA’s 67 bureaus, councils and committees, not to mention our affiliated groups, in carrying out the goals of each AOA strategic pathway. Strategic budgeting, how we ensure the AOA budget supports and enables work toward our top goals, was also a major topic for discussion, as was an environmental survey staff assembled to assess the current status and demographics of the osteopathic medical profession and the current and future health care delivery system in which our members practice.
