  • The local NBC affiliate ran a TV piece and online article​ about the Edward Via Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine’s Summer Enrichment Experience on its Virginia Campus, which gave nearly four dozen high school students the chance to see what it is like to be an osteopathic medical student.
  • FamilyCare Health Plans Inc., through its President, Jeff Heatherington, will give $2 million to Western University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific-Northwest to reduce student debt and support with scholarships osteopathic medical students interested in primary care, the school reported on 7/12/12.
  • The University of North Texas Health Science Center, home to the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, is holding its annual White Coat Ceremony on 7/21/12, symbolizing the mantle of responsibility when its osteopathic medical students take a professional oath, publicly acknowledging their willingness to assume the obligations of their chosen profession.​
