AOA Letter Quoted in Media Corner

The AOA is quoted in a widely read online newsletter from the National Journal sent out this week!  The National Journal’s Health Care newsletter included an article on recent federal changes to changes to Flexible Spending Accounts related to over-the-counter (OTC) medications.  The AOA wrote a letter to the Internal Revenue Service last week expressing our concern that this new policy is an unnecessary burden on both patients and physicians and has little opportunity to improve quality of care.  The Journal quotes our letter and belief that the requirement created “great confusion for patients and physicians alike,” and our warning that it could jeopardize the quality of care that’s given.  Subscribers can read the article online.
