FOMA Convention Continues 

AOA President Karen J. Nichols, DO, continued her visit to the Florida Osteopathic Medical Association’s (FOMA) 108th Annual FOMA Convention, taking place 2/24-27/11 on the edge of the Everglades.  AOA Trustees Ronald R. Burns, DO, Joseph A. Giaimo, DO, and William M. Silverman, DO, along with Past Presidents Peter B. Ajluni, DO, Howard Neer, DO, Philip Shettle, DO, and Marcelino Oliva, DO, are in attendance and participated in various events.  Last evening Dr. Shettle emceed a reception hosted by the American Osteopathic Foundation (AOF) for FOMA attendees, which attracted approximately 100 guests.  The AOF Board, on which Dr. Shettle serves as President-elect, is sponsoring receptions at four state association meetings to share information on the AOF’s philanthropic role in supporting osteopathic research and education.  President Nichols gave the FOMA Presidential address at this afternoon’s luncheon, focusing on five themes from our Strategic Plan and the abiding trust osteopathic physicians engender with their patients.  Keep reading for another major event held during the FOMA Convention…​
