President Nichols Visits UNE-COM

UNECOM.JPG

AOA President Karen J. Nichols, DO, visited the campus of the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine (UNE-COM) in Biddeford, ME, today.  This morning President Nichols met with UNE-COM Dean Mark A. Hahn, DO, to discuss AOA programs related to osteopathic medical education, such as the OGME Development Initiative, and education-related strategic goals.  This afternoon President Nichols gave a presentation to first- and second-year osteopathic medical students, taking time to learn about UNE-COM students’ needs and answer their questions.  UNE-COM enrolls 133 first-year students and 514 students total; about 46% of 2009 UNE-COM graduates went on to pursue OGME training programs.
