92nd House of Delegates Convenes
The 92nd Annual Meeting of the AOA House of Delegates commenced this morning in Chicago! AOA Speaker of the House of Delegates Carl M. Pesta, DO, and Vice-Speaker Ray Morrison, DO, called to order the 463 Delegates certified this morning at 9 a.m. to hear reports from many affiliate groups. President Levine provided his farewell address, thanking delegates for “thinking osteopathically” alongside him this past year and facing many challenges together.  My annual address to the House chronicled the AOA’s transformation enabled by President Levine’s leadership this past year, as well as looked forward to being the premier home for all DOs and osteopathic medical students under the leadership of President-elect Ray E. Stowers, DO, who will be inaugurated tomorrow. In a special order of business, President Levine bestowed three Presidential Citations upon Ronald E. Ayres, DO, longtime Chair of the AOA Bureau of Osteopathic Specialists; Sheldon Sirota, DO; and the Association of Military Osteopathic Physicians & Surgeons. Delegates adjourned this afternoon to conduct Reference Committee meetings. The six reference committees will consider 138 resolutions and provide their recommendations to the House at-large for action tomorrow and Sunday.
