Affiliates Provide Reports to Board

Following the Executive Session, this afternoon the Board convened in General Session and welcomed representatives from many AOA affiliates and other osteopathic organizations to the Midyear.  All participating groups will be invited to provide verbal and/or written reports to the AOA Board during tomorrow’s proceedings.  Today’s general session included reports from President Levine and President-elect Stowers as well as each of the AOA’s six Departmental Chairs who oversee the Departments of Affiliate Relations; Business Affairs; Educational Affairs; Governmental Affairs; Professional Affairs; and Research, Quality & Public Health.  My Executive Director’s report talked about the AOA’s greatness as well as the responsibilities that come with such growth.  Additional reports were given by the AOA General Counsel, the Osteopathic International Alliance, the AOA Bureau of OGME Development, and John Gimpel, DO, of the National Board of Osteoatohic Medical Examiners.  Resolutions before the Midyear Meeting will be considered by Reference Committees tomorrow and acted upon by the Board on Saturday.
