Host a Mini-Medical School during NOM Week

Speaking of schools, have you considered hosting a Mini-Medical School in your community to help promote the osteopathic medical profession?   During National Osteopathic Medicine (NOM) Week 2012, taking place on 4/15-21/12, the AOA is encouraging members to join in and promote the profession in their communities, newspapers, and practices.  One fun way to do so is hosting a Mini-Medical School to educate young children about health, wellness, and osteopathic medicine—and perhaps inspire future generations to become DOs!  To help you coordinate such an event, contact the AOA to receive a Mini-Medical School disc of resources, including a planning guide, workbook, brochure, station signs, and certificate of completion. We can even customize the marketing materials for you!  To place your order for the Mini-Medical School materials, contact Jean O’Brien, AOA Marketing Communications Manager, at jobrien@osteopathic.org.

Host a Mini-Medical School during NOM Week

Just hosted a Mini Med School today at Robert Taylor Elementary School in Henderson, NV. It was a transdisciplinary effort, with students from the DO and OT classes at Touro University Nevada. We had a blast - and  all the kids said they learned something new and had fun in the process! This is our 3rd Mini Med School event this year,  and we look forward to hosting many more in the future!
