Quality and Research Tools for DOs

Speaking of CAP, the AOA’s practice assessment program has been recognized as a qualified registry under the CMS Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS) for the past few years.  Data from the 2011 CAP for PQRS shows that we had a total of 208 DOs who submitted reports to CMS. These reports came from 178 AOA members and 23 non-members who participated in the measure group option. We had seven members who participated in the individual measures option. The AOA developed the CAP for PQRS to provide physicians with an opportunity to receive enhanced payment from CMS and understand how patients are doing using evidence-based process and outcome measures.
