Members Awards and Achievements

  • ​Stephen Swetech, DO, and his family have been awarded the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians’ (ACOFP) inaugural Osteopathic Family Heritage Award, which recognizes families for their significant influence on osteopathic medicine.
  • The ACOFP also awarded its 2012 ACOFP Lifetime Achievement Award to Joseph McNerney, DO, of Clarkston, Mich., for his career-long service to patients, the osteopathic family medicine profession, and to the College. 
  • Hugh Palmer, DO, a family physician, was named the “Physician of the Year” during the Central Pennsylvania’s healthcare industry’s fifth annual Healthcare Heroes Awards for his exemplary performance and benefit to families in the community.
  • The American Osteopathic Foundation Board of Directors voted unanimously to rename its annual Emerging Leader Award for James M. Lally, DO, MMM, the immediate past president of the AOF and an AOA board-certified family physician.​
