Two CME Conferences Coming Up

Body

There are so many opportunities for CME today, I don't see how a DO can not meet his or her requirement for memberhip or specialty board certification.  You can get most of your CME on the Internet today. A DO Who is ABMS Board certified only needs 10 Category 1-A credits starting this cycle.  DOs who are AOA board certified dtill need 30 1-A credits, which they can acquire throuth attending a state or specialty meeting, OMED, or through ROME meetings once or twice a year. When we are asked at the CCME for waivers, the DO frequently traveled to Europe or Hawaii to attend an AMA meeting.  We allow DOs in small specialties to use 15 AMA credits to meet half their 1-A membership requirement.  Pretty soon we'll be allowing 1-A credit for DOs who attended all AMA programs.  Why bother putting on 1-A credit if we give away membership without asking the DO at least come to AOA programs where they can meet their previous classmatesssssssss, training mates and other DOS who can help them maintain their knowledge and skills in OPP/OMT and OMM.  If a DO does no maintain thes skills/knoweledge, what makes him/her a DO?
