A Call to Action – Sign the Petition

Frankly, I can’t believe we are STILL battling Congress over the flawed physician payment formula. Physicians are once again facing not only a 29.5% cut to Medicare payments because of the formula, but are potentially subjected to additional cuts this year.

This time around, the AOA is pulling out all the stops to make sure Congress knows our stance and takes action. We have launched a national advocacy campaign aimed at securing the inclusion of key policy provisions about the sustainable growth rate (SGR) formula in the final legislation produced by the Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction.  We have also developed three ads that literally illustrate how the SGR formula is detrimental to the economy and the fiscal stability of the Medicare program.

That is what the AOA is doing. Here is what you can do…

If you haven’t already, please take a few seconds to sign the petition at www.everypatientcounts.org. We must all stand together to get Congress to act once and for all and fix the physician payment formula. Join me, the AOA, and your colleagues in this important endeavor and sign the petition today.
