Are We There Yet?

“Are We There Yet?” - That’s the question I think many of you will be asking throughout this year, while we prepare for and adopt the big changes that are headed our way — Osteopathic Continuous Certification (OCC), CME reporting guideline changes, and changes to CMS’ Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS). Well, don’t worry; the AOA is here to guide you through the changes and make sure that you and your practice are ready.

This week, the AOA launched the Are We There Yet? osteopathic family road trip. We are inviting DOs to join this road trip to learn all the details about these important, upcoming changes AND win prizes along the way. We know you have questions about OCC, PQRS, and the CME reporting guidelines, so for this leg of the road trip, the AOA is providing a comprehensive Frequently Asked Questions document. This resource, along with many others such as videos and webinars, will be made available throughout our journey, which will continue into next year.

To access these resources, learn about the important changes, and win prizes like gas cards, a Garmin navigation system, an iPod, and $1,000 in airline tickets, simply join the road trip at www.osteopathic.org/arewethereyet.

Are we there yet? Not yet; but we’re on our way…and we’re getting there together.

Are We There Yet?

Dr Levine,

I am applying for licensure in various states and am noticing that a lot of them continue to list DOs as "osteopaths" and list our degrees as those in "osteopathy".  Hawaii, for example, is one of those states as you can see.  Would your office be so kind as to address this is a national issue as to ensure consistency for ALL Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine, Osteopathic Physicians, and practitioners of Osteopathic Medicine instead of simply "osteopaths" or "doctors of osteopathy"? I have provided a link for Hawaii's state medical board - http://hawaii.gov/dcca/pvl/boards/medical/
