Brighton Physician Elected to AOA Board of Trustees

July 22, 2011 

(CHICAGO) – Jennifer Kendall, DO, of Brighton, Mich., was recently elected to the American Osteopathic Association’s (AOA) Board of Trustees as the new intern and resident representative.

“I feel honored to be elected to this position and for this opportunity to represent my fellow interns and residents at a time when our careers as DOs are just beginning to flourish,” says Dr. Kendall.

Professional Background

Dr. Kendall is currently completing a one year interventional spine fellowship after recently finishing a physical medicine and rehabilitation medical residency program at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. She has also completed an undergraduate internship at the French National Bone Marrow Registry in Paris.

Previously, Dr. Kendall served as the student representative to the AOA’s Bureau of State Governmental Affairs.  In addition, she is an active member of not only the AOA but also the Michigan Osteopathic Association and the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Honors and Awards

In 2006, Dr. Kendall was given the Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine Student DO of the Year Award. She also received in 2011 the University of Michigan’s Theodore M. Cole Award and in 2010 the Kathy Kielb Award for her high academics and level of professionalism.

Education

Dr. Kendall received her degree in osteopathic medicine from the Des Moines (Iowa) University – College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2007. She later completed her osteopathic medical internship at the Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills, Mich.
