(CHICAGO) – William J. Burke, DO, an AOA board-certified family physician from Columbus, Ohio, was recently re-elected to the American Osteopathic Association’s (AOA) Board of Trustees during the AOA’ recent annual business meeting in Chicago.
“I look forward to continuing the advancement of the osteopathic medical profession on the national level and maintaining my steadfast commitment to the AOA,” says Dr. Burke.
Professional Background
Dr. Burke serves as the vice president of medical education at Doctors Hospital in Columbus. He also serves as an associate professor of family medicine at the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine (OH-HCOM) in Athens.
Honors and Awards
Dr. Burke received the American Osteopathic Foundation’s Distinguished Service Award in 2008 and the Family Physician of the Year Award by the Ohio State Society of the American College of Osteopathic Physicians in 2010.
Education
Dr. Burke earned his osteopathic medical degree at what is now OU-HCOM in 1988. Following completion of his degree, he completed his postdoctoral medical training at the Doctors Hospital in Columbus.
