|AOA Supports Veterans through the Joining Forces Initiative
On Veterans Day, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), and the more than 100,000 osteopathic physicians and medical students we represent, join with all Americans in remembrance of those who take the path less traveled to serve in the United States armed services. To recognize these men and women, the AOA has partnered with the Joining Forces initiative to mobilize all sectors of society to give service members and their families the support they have earned.
Northup Medical Writing Award Presented During Annual Osteopathic Medical Conference
The AOA presented Xiangrong Shi, PhD, an associate professor of integrative physiology at the University of North Texas Health Science Center - Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth, with the George W. Northup, DO, Medical Writing Award for an article titled “Effect of Cranial Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine on Cerebral Tissue Oxygenation.”
Osteopathic Physicians Urge Increased EMR System Interoperability
At a time when the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is encouraging all physicians to utilize electronic medical records (EMRs), the AOA urges the development of a national health information technology infrastructure that includes universal exchange language for EMR systems.
