AOA Applauds House's Move to Improve Medicare & Calls for Senate Action

Statement attributable to American Osteopathic Association President Robert S. Juhasz, DO

Washington, DC —March 26, 2015— Congratulations to the House for finding the political will to pass this critical reform, the "Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015" (H.R. 2), which creates new certainty for our nation’s seniors, children, and their physicians. We strongly urge their colleagues in the Senate to take immediate action to approve this legislation before the scheduled cuts take effect April 1. The time for temporary patches has long passed and our nation cannot afford to delay reform yet again. Ultimately, this legislation will bring about lower cost, higher quality health care that strengthens our people and our economy.
