An AOA board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist, Draion M. Burch, DO, "Dr. Drai," is a nationally recognized author, speaker and consultant. He is a practicing physician and teaching faculty member at Magee-Womens Hospital of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Previously, Dr. Drai served as the chief resident of the obstetrics and gynecology residency program at the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine (MSUCOM) in East Lansing. Before partaking in his postdoctoral training at MSUCOM, he received his osteopathic medical degree from what is now the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens.
Dr. Drai has been continually active within the osteopathic medical profession, including being the first to serve as an intern and resident trustee to the Michigan Osteopathic Association Board of Trustees. He also served as the intern and resident representative on the Board of Trustees for the AOA and the American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Additionally, Dr. Drai is currently the president of the National Osteopathic Medical Association, which provides leadership and works to improve the representation of minority osteopathic physicians at all levels within the osteopathic medical profession, as well as provide mentors to medical students and increase awareness of osteopathic medicine.
