An AOA board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist, Draion M. Burch, DO, is currently practicing at Magee-Womens Hospital of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Previously, he served as the chief resident of the obstetrics and gynecology residency program for the Statewide Campus System at the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine (MSUCOM).
Before partaking in his postdoctoral training at MSUCOM, Dr. Burch received his osteopathic medical degree from what is now the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens.
Dr. Burch has been continually active within the osteopathic medical profession, including being the first to serve as an intern and resident trustee to the Michigan Osteopathic Association Board of Trustees. He also served as the intern and resident representative on the Board of Trustees for the AOA and the American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
While on staff at the St. John Health-Osteopathic Division of the Macomb-Oakland Hospital in Warren, Mich., Dr. Burch received the St. John Osteopathic Division’s OBGYN Resident of the Year award in 2009 and 2011. He also received the American Osteopathic Foundation’s Outstanding Resident of the Year award in 2011.
