Ivan Rusilko, DO, specializes in creating healthy lifestyles that support longevity and improved overall quality of life through medically supervised and customized diagnostic and treatment programs, with an emphasis placed on personal patient attention and follow-up. As medical director and co-founder of Club Essentia Wellness Retreat in Delano, located in Miami Beach, Fla., his goal is to create a new niche in the medical community which he equates to "Lifestyle Medicine." His unique approach allows patients to discover their current state of wellness, formulate tailored medical regiments specific to themselves, and maximize their quality of life potential, all while basking in complete comfort and luxury.
With first-hand knowledge in the exercise and nutrition fields, Dr. Rusilko previously served as the medical fitness, nutrition and sexual health specialist at the MIAMI Institute in Florida, where he helped build one-of-a-kind weight loss and wellness programs.
He has also been featured as a health writer and lifestyle coach for multiple magazines and online publications, including the Washington Times, as well as serves as a national media expert and spokesperson on diet, exercise, sports nutrition and sexual health; lectures for the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine; sits on the Physician Advisory Board for the American Academy of Procedural Medicine; and teaches aesthetic- and wellness-based instructional certification courses across the country for Empire Medical Training, which is based in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
As an author, he has written a trilogy novel series, The Winemaker's Dinner, which debuted in the summer of 2012.
After graduating from Mercyhurst College in Pennsylvania, Dr. Rusilko earned his osteopathic medical degree from the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, Pa., where he received the Dean's Award for his efforts in promoting osteopathic medicine on an international level. He is also a certified sports nutritionist with numerous years of experience in celebrity personal training and nutritional counseling.
