Mark E. Rosen, DO, who specializes in osteopathic manipulative medicine, is in private practice in Portola Valley, Calif. He also is a clinical assistant professor at the Western University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in Pomona, Calif.; and the Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine—California in Vallejo. In addition, he teaches courses for the Osteopathic Cranial Academy, an organization dedicated to the study of anatomy and physiology of the cranium and its interrelationship with the body as a whole.

Dr. Rosen has both written and been interviewed for articles explaining osteopathic medicine, including a radio interview on KQED-FM in San Francisco about the efficacy of osteopathic manipulative medicine. He is past president of the Cranial Academy. 

After receiving his osteopathic medical degree from the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in East Lansing, Dr. Rosen completed his internship at Saginaw Osteopathic Hospital in Saginaw, Mich. He completed a residency in general psychiatry at Sinai Hospital of Detroit.
