Martin S. Levine, DO, is an AOA board-certified family physician with private practices in Bayonne., N.J., and Jersey City, N.J. He is also the associate dean for educational development, a professor of family medicine and a professor of osteopathic manipulative treatment at the Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in the Harlem neighborhood of New York City. Additionally, Dr. Levine serves as the discipline chief of family medicine and associate professor of clinical family medicine at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine's New Jersey Clinical Campus based at the Seton Hall University School of Health and Medical Sciences in Newark, N.J.
A member of the AOA’s Board of Trustees since 2000, Dr. Levine served as the association’s 115th president from July 2011 to July 2012.
An avid marathon runner, Dr. Levine has served as a sports medicine physician for both the New York City and Boston marathons and has been a team physician for all levels of sports, including the Olympics, professional teams, college teams and high school teams. He has also lectured at medical conferences about pain management, sports injuries and other health care issues.
Among his achievements, Dr. Levine has been named to the Best Doctors listing by New York magazine every year since 1999.
Upon completion of his osteopathic medical degree from what is now the Kirksville (Mo.) College of Osteopathic Medicine-A.T. Still University, Dr. Levine completed both an internship and family practice residency training at the Kennedy Memorial Hospital in Stratford, N.J.
